I think I can....

I’m walking down the street,
distracted by the dreams of others
I trip on a vine of self doubt
and fall down a giant hole
Luckily for me fate proves to be on my side
A branch snags on my backpack
and it’s the only thing holding me up now
As I start to panic
I hear the voice of a good friend above me
He says he can’t reach me
and that I need to  pull myself up
“I think I can,
I think I can,
I think I can”
As I get closer to the top, I slip
But my friend is there to grab me
and starts to pull me back up
He says I need to help myself
But he’ll be there, just incase
“I think I can,
I think I can,
I think I can”
As I get closer to the top
He asks if I need any more help
I said ,“
No,
I can do it on my own”
With that I sing out,
“I KNOW I CAN
I KNOW I CAN
I KNOW I CAN!”
And pull myself out of the hole
But the good friend is gone
All he left was a note, it said
“I knew you could”
